Beach volleyball has been on a tear within Northern California. Feather River is undefeated within the 2024 season with recent wins over Fresno City College, Sierra College, San Joaquin Delta College and American River College. These wins have helped the Golden Eagles rank #1 in Northern California.
On February 23rd the Golden Eagles beat West Valley 5-0. All five pairs showed up and showed out for their season opening matches. On the same day they beat Fresno City College 3-2. The pairs who won their match ups were the ones pair Anna Bolich and Ashlee Kraft, the twos pair Emma Daughtery and Kiyana Faupula, as well as the fives pair Hannah Dowers and Mallory Foster.
February 29th Feather River played Sierra College and San Joaquin Delta College at the University of the Pacific. The threes pair Francesca Martins and Abby Coburn won a tight third set while the game score was 2-2 against the Wolverines. This win helped the Golden Eagles beat Sierra College 3-2. Pair two Daughtery and Faupula, the three pair Martins and Cogburn, the four pair Maya Cann and LeDua Koy, as well as the fives Foster and Dowers won their matches against San Joaquin Delta College. The Golden Eagles beat the Mustangs 4-1.
On March 7th Feather River traveled to Sacramento College where they played American River College. The two pair Daughtery and Faupula and the three pair Martins and Cogburn once again won their matches. The fours pair Cann and Kristine Bakhad came in clutch to seal the win against the Beavers 3-2.
The Golden Eagles will be flying south next week as they face off against the University of Nebraska, Grossmont College, San Diego Mesa College and the University of Saint Katherine on March 14th and 15th.
