PITTSBURG--Visiting Feather River College rallied back from deficits twice to slip past Los Medanos College on a sunny Monday afternoon in Pittsburg, 11-9 and 4-2.

The Golden Eagles won their sixth and seventh straight games in taking the non-conference double-dip, improving to 12-5 on the season. The Mustangs, from the Bay Valley Conference, dropped to 8-8.

FRC trailed by as many as three runs in the nine-inning opener, 6-3. But they blasted back with four runs in the fifth to take a 7-6 lead, thanks in part to a two-run single by catcher Ryan Gray. After Los Medanos took the lead back at 8-7 in the sixth, the Golden Eagles fdrew even in the seventh and then put up two more in the ninth thanks to Abiel Gonzalez's two RBI single. That set the table for closer Jake Christianson. The 6-foot-4 righthander plunked the first batter he faced  but he then set the Mustangs down in order for his second save of the season.

The Golden Eagles had 10 hits and five stolen bases in the game. Cory McIntyre continue his hot pace with three hits in four trips to the plate, including a double, and the left fielder scored four times. Gray had two hits and a whopping five RBI and Ryan Blanchard had a pair of hits, including a double. Nine different pitchers toed the rubber before Christianson closed it out.

In the nightcap, the Mustangs led 4-2 before the Golden Eagles scored three times in the top of the sixth. They added an insurance run in the seventh and held on for the win, 6-4. Mohi Kahui had two of FRC's eight hits and drove in a run. Spencer Haaland pitched the final three innings without giving up a run and pitcked up the win. 

Feather River returns home and to Golden Valley Conference play this weekend for a three-game series with Shasta College on Friday (2 pm) and Saturday (noon-DH).
