Golden Eagles Continue to Roll

WEED--The Feather River baseball team held serve and remained on top of the Golden Valley Conference with a 10-5 road win over the College of the Siskiyous on Friday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles improved to 22-6 overall with the victory and to 13-1 in the GVC (Butte is in second place at 14-3). Siskiyous dropped to 7-18 on the season and to 1-12 in conference play. It was the sixth straight win for FRC and their 17th victory in their last 18 outings. For the Eagles, it was their seventh straight loss and fourth defeat at the hands of the Golden Eagles this season. 

The two squads will wrap up the three-game series with a Saturday doubleheader in Weed that begins at noon.

Cooper Kitrel had four hits for the Golden Eagles, three of them doubles to pace the double digit attack. Jerry Thomas had a pair of doubles and three total hits, while Ryan Blanchard and Cooper Thacker had two hits each.

Left-hander Dylan Cabral put in a workman like seven innings to collect the win, improving to 4-3
