Golden Eagles Rumble to Victory Over Knights

Quincy - The Feather River College football team forced three interceptions, with two in the second half to defeat the Shasta College Knights Saturday (10/28) night under the lights at Brennan Stadium by a score of 35-28. An opportunistic defense combined with a powering ground attack, the Golden Eagles outscore the knights 21-14 in the second half after being knotted at half 14-14.  

Freshman Quarterback Ryan Vaughan had a career high in passing yards with 183, going 18-27 with a touchdown. Vaughan's touchdown pass went 16 yards to Trace Patterson early in the 3rd quarter to tie the game at 21-21.  

The ground attack of Levi Andrews and Jeryll McIntosh combined for 196 yards rushing on 31 attempts and four touchdowns. Andrews went for 156 on 19 attempts and two touchdowns. McIntosh went for 40 yards on 12 attempts and two touchdowns. 

Defensively, the Golden Eagles were lead by Freshman Linebacker Royce Vaught, who recorded 11 total tackles and one sack. Sophomore Linebacker Sam Logoai recorded 10 total tackles, a forced fumble, and a pass breakup. Interception were recorded by Jaziel Livingston, Josiah Lathon, and Ethan Andrews

With the victory, the Golden Eagles record moved to 3-5 (2-1) and a 3-1 record at home. Feather River takes on Butte College on the road on Saturday, November 4th at 1pm.
