The Golden Eagles have been on the road for the past 10 games. Feather River split the first weekend against Cosumnes River and Monterey Peninsula. They won the first game of the season 5-2 and the second 6-0.
Rocklin, CA-
Feather River played a double header February 10th against College of San Mateo and Sierra College. San Mateo is currently ranked #1 from the 3CFCA State Rankings and for good reason as they have won 20 consecutive games. San Mateo held Feather River scoreless for the entire game only allowing one hit. Braelyn Birkel was hit by a pitch her first at bat. Then both Brooklyn Baray and MacKenzie Bradley walked. Brianna Lopez-Cortez recorded the only hit of the game, which was a single in the top of the seventh. The second game of the day was against Sierra College where the Golden Eagles lost 0-3.
Folsom Lake, CA-
On February 22nd the Golden Eagles had a double header vs. Folsom Lake College where they split on the day. The second game was recorded as forfeit from Folsom Lake. The first inning Kayli Mueller had a sacrifice fly scoring Brooklyn Baray and advancing the runner. The hawks answered back with four runs. In the top of the second Baray singled to score Jersey Tsosie and advancing Felicia Ulibarri to third and Birkel to second. Lopez-Cortez came up in the top of the seventh to score Birkel. The Golden Eagles lost the game 3-8.
Reedley, CA-
After Folsom Lake, Feather River hit the road and traveled to Reedley California to play Reedley College for a double header on February 23rd. The second inning of the first game Jessica Calloway had a sacrifice bunt that scored Baray and advanced the runner Charisma Colon to third. In the top of the 5th Alexa Baumgartner singled scoring Birkel and advancing the runner Mueller. Feather River lost 2-5. The second game Mueller recorded 2 hits and a walk. Baumgartner and Georgia Sudduth both recorded a hit and a walk. Jersey Tsosie and Lisa Lucero both pitched in both games.
After a couple weeks of postponed games due to weather the Golden Eagles look forward to playing Mendocino College Friday March 1st.
