Women's Basketball

Coach Katie Gannon graduated from Glendora High School in 2010 where she averaged 15 points and 5 rebounds a game over the course of four seasons. Following high school Coach Katie received an opportunity to compete for the New Mexico Highlands Basketball program. She made the Dean’s list, earned coach’s awards, and ultimately received her Bachelors in Exercise Science with a 3.6 GPA. Gannon was offered the opportunity to join the Feather River staff in 2015 where she stayed until the 2019 season. During her time with FRC, Coach Katie helped lead the Eagles to their best season in the school’s history at 20-9 and land their first home playoff appearance since 1992! She also played a role in recruitment, helping athletes transfer on to four year programs on scholarships, development and implementation of the Golden Eagle workout program, and helped organize and run multiple camps and clinics in Plumas County. Coach Katie decided to step away for a season and during this time she taught Physical Education at Portola High School. While teaching, her passion for coaching lead her to stay involved in Portola High School athletics, helping the Tigers team earn a section playoff appearance, for which she was awarded league coach of the year. Coach Katie brings an unmatched level of energy and passion to the program and forms bonds with her players that last a lifetime.
