Ladies Eagles Run in first GVC Championships

Ladies Eagles Run in first GVC Championships
On Thursday, October 31, 2013 our Lady Golden Eagles ran in their first ever GVC Cross Country Championships in Cottonwood, CA. Having only one meet under their feet, our ladies took off and headed into the hilly off road terrain course. Battling over 20 degree hotter weather, a course none of the women had ever set foot on and running a distance they are not accostomed to, our women surprised everyone, including the coach! Sophmore Adrienne Roane dug deep at the end of the race and turned her sprinter speed on as she was neck and neck with one of Butte's distance runners. It was definitely the best finish of both men and women's races! Adrienne surprised herself and our team as she ran almost a minute faster than her personal best! In one week our new Freshman Amy McDougal, has run 4 practices and 2 meets! She also had a succesful time and race with barely any time to get her feet warmed up! Unfortunately our freshman Makaylah Wright is dealing with a painful foot and was not able to compete. Please congratulate these ladies as they have worked hard and ran impressively well! Next up on the agenda, keep our fall training strong and bodies healthy for a successful Track & Field season!

Good Job Lady Golden Eagles!! YOU ROCK!!!!
