
QUINCY--Feather River followed a familiar path in wrapping up a three-game sweep of the College of the Redwoods on Saturday, topping the Corsairs, 14-4.
The Golden Eagles improved to 14-6 overall and to 4-2 in the Golden Valley Conference. Redwoods is now 4-11 and 1-5.
FRC pounded out 15 hits on the day, including home runs by Rocco Crow and Shane Danley. The top three batters in the order, Dylan Marx, Anthony Cepeda and Zane Denton, combined to go 6-for-12 on the day. Nick Anderson also had a pair of hits for the Golden Eagles.
That gave the hosts a total of 47 runs in the three games and 45 hits. FRC has scored in double figures in ten of their 20 games.
Six pitchers served on the Feather River committee today, with middle reliever Drew Perigo the most effective. Perigo went two innings, did not give up a hit or run, walked one and fanned five.
Feather River led from start to finish today. They broke open the game in the bottom of the eighth with six runs. Redwoods was held scoreless over the last four innings of the contest.
The Golden Eagles head to the College of the Siskiyous next weekend, for a Friday 2 pm game and a Saturday doubleheader that starts at 11 a.m.
