QUINCY--Feather River scored four runs in the fourth and then held off three late Lassen rallies for a 8-6 win on Tuesday at the Eagles Nest.

The Golden Eagles improved to 9-2 in the Golden Valley Conference and are now 19-6 overall. The Cougars slipped to 6-5 in conference play and are 14-9-1 on the season.

Feather River, who went 11 innings before beating Lassen on Sunday, 13-11, took a 6-2 lead after a four-run fourth, all with two outs. Dylan Marx and Anthony Cepeda had RBI-singles in the inning and Shane Danley drove in another run with a double.

FRC would add single runs in the fifth and sixth, and they needed them as Lassen kept pecking away with plate crossings in the sixth, seventh and eighth. But leading by two, Will Page-Allen closed the door in the ninth to pick up his fourth save of the season. Page-Allen gave up just one hit and fanned one.

Marx had two hits, as did Danley. Danley drove in two runs, as did Zane Denton who also had a double amongst his three hits.

Next for Feather River is a trip to Shasta this coming weekend for a single game on Friday (2 pm) and a twinbill on Saturday at noon.
