FRC Completes Season Sweep of Eagles

QUINCY--Feather River completed the season sweep of visiting College of the Siskiyous on Saturday afternoon at the Eagles Nest, topping the Eagles 10-3 for their fourth straight victory.

The Golden Eagles went 5-0 against the Eagles this season, and wrapped up the slate today with double digit runs and hits. FRC had 11 hits on the day, and for the second day in a row all but one of those base knocks was a single. 

The Golden Eagles are now 26-8 overall and 16-4 in the Golden Valley Conference. FRC has a 2.5 game lead on Butte (14-7) and and three-game edge on Lassen (13-7). The Golden Eagles will play a split location series with Lassen next weekend, with a doubleheader slated for Friday at home and a single contest set at Lassen on Saturday.

Today Feather River scored in five of the first six innings of the contest. Kory Chu got things going in the first inning with a two-run single, and Chu would score again in the third after stealing a base and then racing home on an errant throw. Chu had three hits and three RBI on the day. 

Anthony Cepeda drove in four runs with a two-run single, a RBI-single and a bases loaded walk. Grant McGuire had a pair of hits for the second straight day and Nick Anderson roped the only extra base hit for the home team, a double. 

Four pitchers toed the rubber for FRC, with Ryan Clarke securing the victory with 4.2 innings of relief and he gave up only one earned run. The foursome allowed just seven total Siskiyous hits on the day.

Prior to next weekend's big series, Feather River will play a non-conference home contest on Monday with San Joaquin Delta at 4 pm.
