Jason Gay enters his 21st season coaching the Golden Eagles and his 16th season as the Assistant Head Coach. He serves as the team’s infield coach, 3rd base coach, baserunning coach, and helps with the offensive game plan and recruiting. Coach Gay also serves as an Associate Scout for the 2016 World Series Champion, Chicago Cubs.

Coach Gay played for the Golden Eagles in the program’s first and second seasons of existence, 1998 and 1999. Gay earned First Team All-Golden Valley Conference selections both seasons playing short stop and second base for the Eagles. Gay’s hard-nosed style of play also earned him recognition as the first ever baseball player inducted into the school’s Wall of Fame. After graduating from Feather River, Gay went on to play for Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri. Jason was a two-year starter for the NAIA school, where he played centerfield and batted lead-off. Gay helped lead the team to their first ever conference titles as well as two regional playoff appearances. He was recognized as a First Team All-Conference player after his junior year. In rewards for his efforts in Kansas City, Gay was selected to play for a National Collegiate All-Star Team in Europe during the summers following his junior and senior years.

Coach Gay graduated with a B.S. degree in Health Ecology from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2003 and graduated with his Master’s Degree in Sports and Health Sciences from American Public University in 2016. Gay is married to the former Linda Young. Jason and Linda are parents to daughter McKynlee (17) and son Kendrick (13).
