Feather River College Football traveled to Sacramento City College on 9/7/2024 for the opening game of the 2024 season.  Freshman quarterback Michael Kearns III from Las Vegas, NV completed 13 or 20 passes for 153 yards.  Kearns III ignited the Golden Eagles offense in the 2nd half with a 47 yard touchdown pass to freshman Jeremiah Nash from Stockton, CA.  Kearns III also rushed for a touchdown, while Nash finished the day with 3 catches for 61 yards (1 Touchdown) and 23 rushing yards (1 Touchdown).  Freshman running-back Janerious Jackson from Atlanta, GA led the Golden Eagles in rushing with 72 yards on 14 attempts.  Sophomore defensive back JT Hawk led the defense with 9 solo tackles, 2 for a loss, with Kendre Pride and Michael Bryant each recording an interception.  The Golden Eagles outscored the Panthers 20-14 in the second half, but fell short in the end 24-20.  The Golden Eagles will play next on Saturday, September 14th at home versus Foothill College.  Game time is 1:00 PM.
