Coach Marco Aragon is entering his 10th season with the Feather River College Golden Eagles where he works with pitchers, catchers, and hitters. Aragon will be starting his 22nd season overall as an assistant coach. He started his coaching career in New Mexico, coaching high school baseball for 6 seasons beginning in Las Vegas, NM and ending in Albuquerque, NM. After coaching baseball at the high school level Aragon was given a chance to work primarily with catchers for the Luna Community College baseball team for 3 seasons. Baseball is a sport that Aragon loves to teach and coach, but when he was hired as the head assistant softball coach at Luna Community College in Las Vegas, NM his passion for coaching softball began. He spent 3 seasons with Luna CC softball and is currently proud to be a Golden Eagle at FRC.

Coach Aragon is often seen hitting the recruiting trails in Northern California, Nevada, and his home state of New Mexico. With his help, the Golden Eagles have won 5 out of the last 6 Golden Valley Conference Championships. Coach Aragon’s specialty is developing catchers, FRC has had 10 catchers selected to the All-Conference team in the last 8 seasons. Coach Marco also takes the lead when it comes to developing the Golden Eagles pitchers, having 9 All-League award winners in the last 6 seasons, including a Northern California Pitcher of the year and an All-American. His other duties include working with FRC’s hitters and mowing and maintaining the beautiful grass and dirt on the Golden Eagles home field.

In 2018 Coach Aragon was awarded The Diversity Grant to attend the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s annual conference in Chicago Il. The grant was awarded to coach Marco for his work promoting the game of softball to diverse and impoverished populations. He has run clinics for the youth of Quincy CA, and in his hometown of Las Vegas NM.

Aragon is married to Meredith Aragon and they have a handsome son whose name is Marco Virgil James Aragon. The Aragon’s welcomed a new addition to the family in June when their baby girl Meadow Rose Aragon was born. A fun family weekend for the Aragon’s would be a fishing trip to one of the many amazing lakes located within minutes of Feather River College. If the family is not fishing, they are most likely to be found on or around a softball field, either playing slow pitch softball or watching and evaluating fast pitch talent in search of future Golden Eagles. Coach Marco has received his Associates degree in Sports Performance from Luna Community College and is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in History.
