Coach Meredith Aragon will be entering her 10th season as the head coach of the lady Golden Eagles. During her time as head coach, the softball program has become one of the best in Northern California. Her teams have won the 5 Golden Valley Conference Championships. Aragon has done a great job of building a winning tradition that is founded upon hard work and discipline. Athletes come into her program as young ladies and leave as strong women. She holds every player accountable both on and off the field and the softball team has built an outstanding reputation on campus and in the beautiful town of Quincy, CA. She hopes to ensure that Feather River produces Student-Athletes that can both, move on to play softball at a higher level, and contribute to society. Aragon wants to show her athletes that academics will be with you forever and can take you far, while athletics will help build a foundation that will ensure athletes will be successful in life and make a smooth transition into adulthood and the real world.

Coach Meredith won her first GVC title in her 3rd season as head coach and has won it 5 out of the last 6 seasons. She has produced 2 Cali Juco All Americans, 3 GVC MVP’s, 2 GVC pitchers of the year, 5 Nor Cal All State players and numerous 1st and 2nd team All-Conference players. Her team has been ranked as high as 5th in the state of California and 2nd in Northern California. In 2018 the Golden Eagles finished with a record of 33 wins and 7 losses, and was the 2nd seed, out of 16 teams, in the Northern California State Playoffs. Coach Aragon in 2022 also celebrated her 200th win while at FRC.

Coach Aragon obtained her bachelor’s degree in Human Performance and Sport and her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from New Mexico Highlands University. Coach Meredith played four years at NMHU where she excelled as an offensive threat both with the bat and on the base paths. After her successful time as a player she had a major role in building a program from the ground up at Luna Community College. Aragon was the head assistant for the teams’ inaugural year and then became the Head Coach for the Rough Riders for next four years. In 2013 she was an assistant coach for her alma mater New Mexico Highlands University. Meredith was a productive member of the Las Vegas community and has always given back by teaching softball lessons and working at a local early childhood education center. Aragon has also dedicated her time to Fellowship of Christian Athletes softball ministry and has made trips to Honduras to coach young men and women in fast pitch softball. Meredith has played for the FCA All-Star Team where she has been joined by Olympians and professionals in the sport of softball in honoring and playing against the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team in the God and Country Games. She also made a trip to Curacao on the USA international team.

Meredith welcomed a daughter this past June, Meadow Rose Aragon. Meredith enjoys working out, playing slow pitch softball, camping, fishing with family, and exploring all the beautiful mountains, lakes, and rivers that Plumas County has to offer.
