Sarah Ritchie was hired as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Feather River College in 2006, leaving her assistant position at Butte College. In that time Coach Ritchie has a stunning record of 301-107 for a winning percentage of 73.4%. She has lead her team to 10 consecutive Golden Valley Conference Championships, beginning in 2010 and been honored with 9 Golden Valley Conference Coach of the Year awards and, in 2019, Coach Ritchie was recognized as the NorCal Coach of the Year.
2019 stands as the most noteworthy year of her tenure as Ritchie so far as she led her squad to the programs first ever CCCAA State Championship, a first for Feather River athletics as well. The team's overall record stood at 35-2, winning the championship game over southern powerhouse Irvine Valley, ending IVC's undefeated season in a 5-game match that gave FRC the championship title.
In her career at Feather River, she has coached 7 AVCA All-Americans, 9 All-State players, and 14 All-NorCal players. She has also placed over 65 of her players to continue on at 4-year universities on Athletic Scholarships: 19 to Division 1, 35 to Division 2, and 12 to NAIA.
Along with her indoor achievements, Coach Ritchie has been the Head Women’s Beach Volleyball Coach at Feather River College for the past 6 years. She has led her Beach team to 2 Conference titles, and has competed in the CCCAA Beach Individual Championship 4 years in a row, finishing in 5th and 7th place in the Elite 8 in the 2018 season.
Sarah lives in Quincy, California with her life-partner Brandon and their two boys Marcus and Jamison.
