Golden Eagles Fly Past Falcons

Golden Eagles Fly Past Falcons

QUINCY--Andrew Lehmann went 4-for-5 and drove in four runs to help lead host Feather River to a 7-4 non-conference victory over Folsom Lake on Tuesday afternoon at the Eagles Nest.

The game matched up two of the top teams from their respective conferences. Folsom Lake is 11-1 and in first place in the Big 8 Conference, while the Golden Eagles are 9-3 and leading the Golden Valley Conference. After today's contest, FRC is now 20-6 overall and the Falcons are 20-8 on the season.

Lehmann hit a three-run home run in the second inning and added an RBI-double in the sixth. The Golden Eagles had ten hits in the contest, nine of them coming from the top four spots in the batting order. Zane Denton had three hits including a pair of doubles from the three spot, and Shane Danley added two base knocks from the clean-up position.

FRC led 4-0 before the Falcons got their first run and the home team would lead 6-1 through six innings. Jared Stevenson ripped a double for a run in the seventh to give FRC a comfortable 7-1 lead.

Nine different Golden Eagle pitchers went to the mound, with middle reliever Gage Hoyle throwing three innings without giving up an earned run to earn the victory.

Feather River, with that 9-3 conference mark, will face Lassen (9-3) on Friday in Susanville (2 pm) before hosting them on Monday (3 pm).
